It's not a resolution though.

Since I don't like to actually do new years resolutions.  Ya know, fear of failure and all that.

But I recently (like 5 minutes ago) read an email about photographers doing a picture of the day blog.  I love the idea and think it would be great.  Many people have said how they could really see their photos take shape through the year and how it has helped them to find opportunities every day to take better photos.  So I plan to do that.  Every day.  Should be fun!

So I'm looking forward to starting that in January.  Now I can't say I'll post every day but I will post a photo for every day and a seperate post for each.

Are you ready for Christmas?

Cause I sure am!  I have all my shopping done.  And now it's just the waiting.  Oh the waiting will kill me for sure.  We got Lily some pretty fun stuff.  Last year we got her one very little thing since she really didn't have a clue what was going on.  But this year, oh this year I had fun shopping.  In fact if it were in my budget I'm pretty sure there would have been more under that tree for miss Lily.  I got her pots and pans and fruits/veggies and all kinds of fun stuff.

And now it's just the waiting.  I hope she opens presents like her mother....just rip right into them.  Cause I know she'll love everything she's getting from us and all her wonderful family!

Only 10 more days!

Winter Nights and Lights

Well this year we took the Girl to our local winter parade.  It was fun!  The weather wasn't terrible, barely any wind which was a nice change from the norm.  We got there about a half hour before the parade started.  Got our usual spot.  I brought the cocoa and some treats for the girl.  The parade started.  It was wonderful! I could tell Lillian really got a kick out of all the floats and the people in costumes.  We didn't get much candy but that's ok cause she really doesn't eat a whole lot of candy, just the occasional m&ms.  We kept warm and she got to try out her snowsuit that I picked up at a garage sale for $1.  Yup you read that right, a perfectly fine snow suit for $1.  It fits her well and she stayed plenty warm.  Warmer than me who forgot to put on an extra pair of socks and pants under my jeans and snow boots.  I guess I was just more focused on making sure the girl didn't freeze that I forgot about myself.  Thankfully we all survived.  A nice tradition.   We had wanted to take her last year but it was just a little too cold out there for a 6 month old then.

The rest of the weekend we really just did a whole lot of nothing.  I got a few more pages of my scrapbook done.  I'm on like lily's 6th month now.  Though I'm missing halloween pictures and fall pictures.  I'm sure I have them somewhere, only God knows where though.  So I will have to order some more.   Adam played X box all weekend.  A very laid back weekend, we don't seem to get them often enough these days.

I love my Fridays.

Baby napping.  A little bit of WifeSwap and a new blog entry.  What could be better?  Oh yeah, a clean kitchen/dining room and living room.  All of which I did this morning.  Laundry is going and the oven is cleaning itself.

There is something to be said about the relaxed feeling of calmness (is calmness a word?  I didn't think so) that follows after you get a ton of stuff done and you don't have to do anything but enjoy it.

Miss Lily and I do need to run some errands today but I'm not sure I'm feeling it.  She doesn't really need those diapers does she?

Tomorrow we are going to our local winter holiday parade.  I'm pretty excited about it.  Adam and I try to go every year as one of our traditions.  Last year, however, Miss Lily was only 6 months old and she wouldn't have gotten much out of it not to mention we would have had to try to bundle her up and take her out in the cold.  But this year.  I can bundle her up and chase her around the sidewalk for a while to keep us both warm.  It's supposed to be decent tomorrow.  Right around 30 degrees so hopefully the wind stays down and we'll have a grand time.

The rest of the weekend we really don't have anything planned which is nice.  Just stay home and watch some movies or something.  Should be nice.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Chore Charts and other Boring Junk

So anyone who knows me probably knows that I am the "only clean really good when company is over type". I mean we don't live in complete filth or anything but it's no where near as clean as it should be.  My worst enemy are the dishes.  I despise doing dishes.  I don't know why either.  I mean it's not like they take a long time, it's not like it's hard.  We have a dishwasher so it can't be that either.  But I honestly think I would rather do anything besides doing the dishes.  My other arch nemesis is the laundry.  I don't mind washing and drying the laundry but folding/ironing and putting it away take time and usually I'm tired by the time I get upstairs to do it.

So ANYWAY, the point of this is. I need a system.  Like, Tuesdays I clean the bathroom, Sundays I do laundry etc.  But I'm not sure where I start.  Obviously Adam isn't thrilled with the idea of a chore chart.  He would rather I just tell him what to do.  So What if I made a chore chart and just told him what to do and when.  That could work right?  I mean besides the fact that he'll see this post I don't see why he'd even have to know where WAS a chore chart.

So tell me, What's your system?  Cause Lord knows I need one.

So What Did We Do On Thanksgiving You Ask?

Ok so no one asked.  But I'll tell you all (all 3 of you) anyway.  We got up bright and early, like 7:30.  Actually that's kind of late for us since the girl is usually an early riser.  But the point remains the same.  We all got dressed and ready and I brought Lily downstairs to get her dressed and put some Elmo on (that is like magic in our house) while she ate her breakfast and I got a few things packed up and ready to go.  Adam was pretty surprised to come down the stairs and see Miss Lily sitting by herself on the couch wrapped in a towel with a banana in one hand watching Elmo on the laptop while I was in the kitchen.  Oh well.  You gotta do what you gotta do right?

So we left to go to my parents.  Lily was pretty excited to get there, when she saw where she was she clapped her hands.  It was very nice to see all the family.  All my grandparents and of course my parents.  So we ate a delicious meal there and then headed to Adam's aunts house for dessert and to visit for a while.  Lily napped in the car.  We got to his Aunts and visited for a while.  The girl always stays busy so we don't worry about her too much.  Left and got home about 8 or so, so not too far off of bedtime which was nice.

When I thought about it, Lily got to see every single one of her grandparents and great-grandparents that day.  All 8 of them!  How cool is that?  She's a pretty lucky little girl and that's something to be thankful for I think.  And we're pretty lucky too!
